A new wing on coastal ground

The groundwater here is near the surface and saline, with chlorides and sulphates. Piles, pile caps and basement elements follow the consultant's exposure class, usually with GGBS, a low water to cement ratio and specified cover. Ask us for the mix submittal early.

Then the usual sequence: blinding, piles or raft, ground slab, frame. A car park deck of 30 by 45 m at 250 mm is about 340 m³, 29 truckloads, and needs a boom pump plus a continuous supply.

Pours inside a working campus

Staff, students or hotel guests are on site while you build. Building management will set delivery hours, routes and where a pump may stand. Do not guess: get those answers in writing before booking. Small refurbishment pours (a lift pit, a new stair, a slab infill) may be 4 to 10 m³ and often need a pump simply to reach the work area.

Screed for new floors is ordered last, timed to the fit-out crew.

Protect what is already there. Cover finished paving, landscaping and façades near the pump, and agree where the mixers wash out; concrete slurry on a campus driveway causes more complaints than the noise. Measure refurbishment pours from actual site depths, since old drawings rarely match what is found.

Short distance, busy roads

Our Al Quoz plant is about 8 km away in a straight line, close by Dubai standards. Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Sufouh Road are busy at peak hours, though, so we still set the retarder for actual travel. In summer, an early-morning pour keeps placing temperature inside the specification.
