Before you call: three things to have ready
First, the approved drawings or at least the foundation and slab dimensions from your contractor. Second, a clear route from the street to the pour point: boundary walls, landscaping and parked cars decide whether a mixer can back in or if a pump is needed. Third, confirmation from the community about delivery hours and which gate trucks use. We do not guess those rules; check with the developer or community management.
The extension, in order
Blinding goes under the new footings, usually one small load. Strip or pad footings follow on a substructure mix. To estimate, multiply length, width and depth of each footing and add them up: ten pads of 1.5 by 1.5 by 0.6 m come to 13.5 m³, which is two trucks of 12 m³ with a partial second load.
The ground slab and any roof slab use a superstructure mix. In most gardens a mixer cannot reach the far corner, so a boom pump parked on the street is the normal answer. Book it with the concrete.
Pools and screeds
Pool shells are often sprayed. Gunite needs a contractor with spraying equipment and a steady truck sequence so the mix does not sit too long. Screed for the new rooms comes at the end, in a small load timed for when the floor layers are on site.
Distance and timing
The plant in Al Quoz is about 9 km from Arabian Ranches in a straight line, reached by Al Qudra Road or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. In summer we suggest early morning slots; the slump and retarder are set for that hour, not for a later time.
Arabian Ranches is inside our readymix concrete Dubai delivery area, served straight from the Al Quoz plant.
Questions from Arabian Ranches sites
- Is a 4 m³ order possible for a small slab?
- Call us with the volume and date and we will tell you how we can schedule it. Partial loads are common on villa work.
- What happens if the truck cannot reach the slab?
- The concrete has to be pumped or the pour waits. That is why we ask about access and boundary walls before confirming.
- Do I need a separate mix for the pool?
- Yes. Sprayed shells use gunite, which is batched differently from a slab mix. Your pool contractor will confirm the specification.
