Dubai South ready-mix concrete for logistics and new phases

Dubai South draws two kinds of buyer: logistics developers near Al Maktoum airport who need large floors and hardstands, and developers of new residential phases on open desert ground.

The distance, dealt with first

At roughly 27 km in a straight line, Dubai South is one of the farthest areas from our Al Quoz plant. Trucks run via Expo Road or Emirates Road. That distance is manageable with planning: a retarder dose set for travel plus waiting time, slump fixed for the hour of the pour, and trucks spaced so none stands idle in the sun. Give us accurate start times and we schedule backwards from them.

For residential phases, group pours by location. Sending trucks to three plots on the same street in one session is far easier than criss-crossing a large masterplan. Share a simple site map with plot numbers and we route the trucks accordingly.

Logistics sheds and aprons

Order sequence: blinding, footings on a substructure mix, ground beams, the floor in bays, then aprons and roads. A 60 by 40 m apron at 250 mm is 600 m³, fifty truckloads, so split it into pours that a finishing crew can handle in one night. Fibre-reinforced concrete is often specified for heavily trafficked areas.

Check with the free zone or master developer about site access, gates and permitted delivery hours.

New residential phases on sand

Compact the haul route before the first delivery; loaded mixers bog down in loose sand. Plan blinding and footings across the phase, then slabs on superstructure with a boom pump. Desert wind and sun crack fresh slabs within hours, so have curing compound or wet hessian ready before the pour, not after.

Raft volumes for villas are measured from drawings plus a margin for uneven formation. A 14 by 12 m raft at 450 mm is about 76 m³, seven trucks, which a single boom pump handles comfortably in an early-morning session.

Every load for Dubai South is batched at Al Quoz, on the same ready-mix concrete Dubai dispatch as the rest of the city.

Questions from Dubai South sites

Does the haul from Al Quoz affect concrete quality?
Not if it is accounted for. We set retarder and slump for the travel time and pour hour, and keep the sequence tight.
Can you supply night pours in Dubai South?
Yes. We run 24/7, and night pours are the usual choice for large exposed slabs in summer.
Who sets the hardstand thickness?
Your structural engineer. Send us the specification and bay plan and we will plan trucks and pumps around it.
