Agree road space before you agree a date

JVC streets loop around the circle, and a mixer and pump parked outside one plot can block access to three others. Talk to neighbouring sites about pour days, and check with the community or developer whether there are delivery hours or truck routes to follow. Trucks come in from Al Khail Road and Hessa Street; our Al Quoz plant is about 8 km away in a straight line, and peak hours lengthen the trip.

Pick the pump position first. Our boom pumps reach 43 m to 57 m, which covers a typical JVC mid-rise from the street. The outriggers need firm ground, not a freshly backfilled trench.

A mid-rise block, stage by stage

Blinding (50 to 75 mm) so the raft steel sits clean. The raft or pads: for a 40 x 25 m footprint at 1.2 m, about 1,200 m3, or 100 truckloads. Inland ground, so no coastal chloride exposure, but follow the engineer's substructure specification.

Then a floor slab roughly every one to two weeks. Each one: formwork checked, steel signed off, pump confirmed, concrete called off. Screed goes into the apartments once services are run, usually floor by floor in smaller orders.

Townhouses come in batches

On townhouse plots, contractors often pour several units in one day. Write the order as a list: unit, element, volume, time. That lets us batch in sequence and lets the truck move from unit to unit without a gap.

In summer, placing-temperature limits in the specification point to early pours. Tell us the true start time so the slump target and retarder suit it. Have curing materials on site before the first truck: townhouse slabs are thin and open, and they dry quickly in sun and wind if curing starts late.
